There is a variety of ways we can help our neighbors. If you are interested in helping our local community, you may learn more about how to donate financially to support the needs of the Neighborhood Center. In addition to the financial support, the Neighborhood Center is in need of donations of food and clothing items and volunteer and mentor support.

Monetary Donations

MCNC served nearly 4,500 people in Marshall County in 2010. In order to meet our client's food, clothing, and energy assistance needs, MCNC relies on generous donors like you. It only takes 32 dollars a month for a family to receive both clothing and food assistance.  By dontating 32 dollars a month, you are helping us keep our doors open, fill our pantry, and sustain our services to all of Marshall County.  To have the 32 dollars (or any other amount) automatically debited from your account click here.  For a one time donation, click the donate button below.

Commodity Donations

MCNC's clothing pantry relies solely on donations of individuals and organizations in the community.  Currently, we are in need of the following:
  • new or gently used clothing
  • linens
  • coats and other outdoor wear
  • shoes
The following are the most common food pantry needs.
  • pancake mix, syrup, and other breakfast items
  • spaghetti sauce and noodles
  • macaroni and cheese
  • spaghettios
  • rice and beans
  • canned tuna in water
  • canned soups
  • peanut butter and jelly
  • meat products
  • personal hygiene products
  • toilet paper
**Unfortunately MCNC does not have the capacity to accept furniture and other household items.  However, we suggest the following two locations for those specific donations.
Salvation Army
113 Water St.
Plymouth, IN 46563

Pathfinders
1601 W. Jefferson St.
Plymouth, IN 46563

Case Management

In 2010, MCNC introduced full time Case Management. Our Case Manager walks hand in hand with clients facing short term emergencies and long term goals. Through her support and encouragement, our clients are able to get started on the path toward independence.

Help us keep this program alive by sponsoring a family for $32/month today!

Volunteering

MCNC welcomes hardworking volunteers to help us run efficiently for our clients.  We are in need of volunteers to come in on a weekly basis and serve our clients.  Don't have time to volunteer every week?  Try a committee! We are also looking for people to be substitutes in case one of our regular volunteers are unable to make it in.  We will work with you and we welcome your talents and passion for helping others and will do our best to find a place for you that utilizes your talents!

Five Star Coaches

Five Star is always looking for people to be involved.  This program sets up mentoring relationships between adults and middle school aged children using goals, games, food, and fun.  Currently, this transformative program is turning kids away because a lack of adult mentors.  Being involved is a small time commitment and occurs on Tuesdays from 2:30-5:30.  For more information about Five Star click here.
